Position Summary: Join our team at Mansfield Hall as a Community Engagement Coach, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our students both academically and socially. You'll help students navigate daily activities, follow individualized schedules, and foster their growth towards independence. Your role will involve direct interaction with students, providing academic support during structured study times, and embodying the mission, values, and philosophy of Mansfield Hall.


Schedule:

  • The hours offered for this role are Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 10:00pm


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and implement student plans, monitoring progress and addressing challenges.
  • Provide coaching and feedback on self-care, social communication, schedule management, and community engagement.
  • Encourage independence and life skill development in students.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with students.
  • Collaborate with Director-level staff and Administrative Leadership to ensure high-quality programming.
  • Address and de-escalate student well-being issues.
  • Manage the staff phone and coordinate with Directors and on-call personnel.
  • Document student progress in Google Suite.
  • Facilitate extracurricular activities and social interactions.
  • Assist with maintaining common spaces and meal setups.
  • Perform other essential duties as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • One or more years of experience working with diverse learners, higher education settings, or multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting students in academic and social growth within a higher education environment.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong ability to develop professional relationships with colleagues and students.
  • Professional representation of Mansfield Hall in external interactions.
  • Understanding of the learning and social challenges faced by Mansfield Hall students.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible work environment.
  • Multi-tasking and oversight skills for environments with up to 30 students.
  • Passion for supporting team goals and success.
