Family Engagement Specialist

Lund is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Engagement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide case management to families and children connected to our Residential Program, support families in strengthening and/or developing natural supports, and provide aftercare support to families following discharge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with parents in the residential program to identify healthy natural supports and plan for strengthening those relationships.
- Provide support to fathers and caregivers outside of the residential program and assist them in maintaining healthy connections.
- Facilitate MAPS meetings and promote strong family and parent-child relationships.
- Participate in planning for program admission and support new clients and their natural supports in adjusting to the program.
- Provide clients with information and assistance in accessing community resources in the aftercare phase.
- Assist in the development of transition and continuing care plans and serve as an advisor to the treatment team.
- Provide support, case management, and home visiting to clients in the aftercare phase as needed.
- Attend treatment team meetings, participate in treatment planning, status meetings, and discharge planning as required.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the treatment team.
- Complete individual session notes, monthly progress notes, and discharge summary paperwork.
- Facilitate groups as assigned and participate in court proceedings as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Expertise working with families and children, and experience administering child trauma screenings.
- Knowledge of women's treatment, community-based resources, and sensitivity to women's issues.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- Familiarity with regulations, laws, and procedures of the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, deadlines, and demands; ability to work well under pressure; availability to respond to off-hours crises; some state-wide travel to attend meetings; flexible hours at times to meet the needs of a 24-hour facility.
- Ability to assist with childcare, including lifting infants and toddlers, and assist in social skill training, including cooking and cleaning.
- Exhibit theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with systems theory, family dynamics, poverty, transitional services, and community-based resources.
- Ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines, participate as a team member, complete referrals to community-based resources, engage in treatment planning, and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to demonstrate creativity and initiative, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- A cohesive value system that includes a non-judgmental attitude regarding reproductive choice, parenting options, and substance-abusing clients.

- Ability to maintain a valid VT Driver's License and access to reliable transportation is required; occasional statewide travel may be required.
- Upon conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to de-escalate and resolve sensitive situations respectfully.
