POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a well-organized, proactive and self-motivated Corporate Accounting Manager to manage the accounting workflow, provide accounting direction and analytical support for budget variances for the Amerijet Holdings, Inc. family of companies. This individual should be a team player, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. This position is responsible for the overall quality of the month end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls and other duties assigned by the VP of Corporate Accounting.

Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Managing Accounting personnel directly and provides direction to the different accounting functional areas (month-end close, journal entries, etc).
  • Managing monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and conducts a quarterly balance sheet review of all accounts with the VP of Corporate Accounting.
  • Ensuring proper coding of all transactions posted to the general ledger.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and resulting financials statements and reports.
  • Managing the accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers and disposals. Reviews and approves all related asset management sub-ledger transactions.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and all other statutory requirements.
  • Providing accounting direction and analytical support to all departments, as required.
  • Ensuring that all internal and external reporting deadlines are met.
  • Managing and provides necessary support to financial audits including internal audits, external audits and peer reviews.
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to process, controls, reports, and SOPs
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Following Company’s policies and procedure and ensure compliance with federal, international, and any other laws and regulations that may apply at any time
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Accounting obtained from a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting or Finance degree from an accredited university
  • Five or more years of related accounting or financial experience including supervisory experience.
  • MBA or CPA certification.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of State and local statutory requirements that govern financial reporting and Accounting.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to professionally interact and provide leadership to the Accounting team to effectively accomplish goals in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal direction from leadership.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative to thoughtfully research and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively coach, mentor and train others to meet performance expectations as described above.
  • Ability to work through others to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Ability to establish processes and procedures to ensure effective department workflow.
  • Ability to track, measure and manage performance is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Logistics or related transportation experience
  • Bilingual English-Spanish desired, but not necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have direct reports and is considered a leader within the company. Will be required to train and support a team to achieve departmental goals.

Language Skills:

The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions from managers and co-workers.

Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required. Must be able to work well under pressure. This position may require limited traveling.
