The Hun School of Princeton is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Associate Director of
Admission to oversee all facets of the admission and enrollment process, from initial inquiry to
enrollment. This elevated leadership role will serve as the Director of Enrollment's right hand in
all aspects of the admission process, as well as in shaping and achieving larger institutional
goals and objectives. The Senior Associate position is a 12-month, full-time position reporting to
the Director of Enrollment Management.


This role is pivotal in shaping the school community by managing diverse aspects of admissions,
including event coordination, supervision of admission ambassadors and tour guides, financial
aid, prospective student and family interviews, application review, and oversight of the
admission deliberations committee.


Responsibilities and Essential functions:

Leadership:

  • Overseeing and mentoring team members within the admission office, ensuring cohesive teamwork and effective execution of responsibilities.

Admission Process Oversight:

  • Oversee the admission application process from inquiry to enrollment;
  • Conduct interviews for prospective students in families for all applying grade levels;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospective families, providing information and guidance throughout their journey;
  • Engage in strategic recruitment efforts and initiatives, while maintaining contact tracing activities, to ensure effective communication and support within the scope of enrollment our goals and objectives;
  • Carefully review applicant files and provide thoughtful recommendations for admission decisions;
  • Ensure consistent following of admission policies and procedures, prioritizing accuracy and efficiency at every step, guided by data-informed decisions and our commitment to selecting students who best fit our community;
  • Prepare regular reports on admission metrics, including applicant demographics, yield rates, and financial aid distribution;
  • Lead in strategic planning sessions to enhance admission processes and student recruitment strategies;
  • Promote school-wide engagement by actively participating in campus activities and sharing knowledge beyond the admission office to strengthen community connections and inclusivity efforts.

Event Management:

  • Guide a team to plan, coordinate, and execute admission events such as open houses, information sessions, webinars, campus tours, and yield events;
  • Manage student, parent volunteers, faculty, and staff participation to ensure events are well-coordinated and engaging;.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communication team to ensure events align with the school's branding and outreach strategies;
  • Evaluate event efficacy and implement improvements based on feedback and data analysis.

Tour Guide and Admission Ambassador Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise student admission ambassadors and tour guides;
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive team dedicated to providing an exceptional visit experience in collaboration with our Visit Coordinator;
  • Assess ambassador and guide performance, providing coaching and support as needed

Financial Aid Committee:

  • Collaborate with the financial aid committee to support the financial aid application process of new and returning students, including review, assessment, and allocation of financial aid resources;
  • Advise prospective families on the financial aid process as a resource to assist with questions or concerns.

Admission Deliberations Committee:

  • Organize and oversee the admission deliberations committee;
  • Coordinate committee meetings, compile applicant evaluations, and facilitate discussions to determine admission decisions;
  • Ensure decisions align with the school's mission, values, and enrollment goals.

The ideal candidate will possesses the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience preferred;
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, domestically, and internationally is required (minimum of a total of 3-4 weeks per year);
  • A dedicated commitment to representing the school both locally and nationally;
  • Capacity to work beyond and outside the typical workday, which includes evenings and weekends;
  • Embody a dynamic blend of qualities: energetic, strategic, compassionate, and collaborative;
  • They must excel in social, written, and verbal communication;
  • Demonstrating an aptitude for meeting deadlines amidst competing priorities;
  • Impeccable organizational skill and a meticulous eye for detail;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to authentically engage with students from Middle to Upper School, as well as their families;
  • Experience navigating diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds is crucial;
  • A strong commitment to confidentiality;
  • Capacity to work beyond and outside the typical workday, which includes evenings and weekends;
  • A commitment to a diverse and inclusive community;

The Hun School of Princeton is an all-gendered, private day and boarding school in Princeton, New Jersey. Individual attention and strong student-faculty relationships are the hallmarks of the School. On the 50-acre campus between Philadelphia and New York City, student-centered, hands-on learning prepares students for the global community in which they will live and work.
