Job DescriptionJob Description

Purpose of Position:

Peachtree Packaging & Display is in search of a dedicated Maintenance Inventory Clerk who will improve upon and manage our parts inventory stock room. This individual will be responsible for the receiving of parts, checking parts into inventory, and issuing parts needed for machine repairs and standard PMs. They will work within a system that tracks inventory, sets min max limits, and maintains all machine parts inventory.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Works for and reports to the Plant Engineer.
  • Works in and adds to Peachtree Packaging’s CMMS to insure it is up to date and that all components of the documentation are present and correct.
  • Work directly with the Maintenance Project Manager to ensure parts are received and inventoried in a timely manner.
  • Assist with ordering parts and materials needed based on new item needs and a min max system.
  • Check out parts needed by the team and ensure the inventory level reflects actual on hand inventory.
  • Ensures that all necessary parts are inventoried and in their correct location.
  • Assists Maintenance Project Manager with Work Order management to ensure Work Orders being finished and documented in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a secure inventory room and only allows parts to be released through the inventory system.
  • Manage existing Work Order and Inventory Management software.
  • Track progress of open orders with Vendors and communicate status to the Maintenance Project Manager.
  • Keep area clean, organized, and free from any hazardous conditions.
  • Follow established department policies, procedures, work instructions, and safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Follow all PPE policies, to include gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection as required.
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.


Education:

-High School Diploma/GED required.

Experience:

-Data entry and computer experience.
-Experience in manufacturing is a plus.

Core Competencies:

-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Self-starter skills to take on tasks and see them through with minimal management.
-Knowledge and understanding of inventory keeping.
-Strong organizational skills and the ability to work within a computerized system.
-Independent and self-motivated but also able to work well with others.
-Ability to use computer software to enter and utilize information in our computer business systems.
-Must be able to perform basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
-Ability to effectively manage time and meet set targets and deadlines.

Physical Demands of the Essential Functions:

Walking, talking, twisting, reaching, hearing, and vision are required over 95% of the time while pushing and pulling are required about 15% of the time. Feeling is required 75% of the time, and bending is required about 20% of the time. Low levels of lifting (10 pounds or less) are required about 80% of the time, while medium levels of lifting and carrying (20 to 50 pounds) are required less than 10% of the time.
