Warehouse Supervisor

THE ROLE

ADVOC8 is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of a merchandise fulfillment and logistics team at our warehouse in Charlotte. Supervisor will play a key role in the success of the warehouse operation; including overseeing all day-to-day activity on the warehouse floor; developing the team and driving performance; implementing and championing a productivity workflow; ensuring compliance to safety protocols; reporting and documentation; and communication within the warehouse and among our numerous external departments, including sales, people operations, production, and customer support. The Warehouse Supervisor is solution-oriented, possesses proven leadership skills, and never settles for the status quo when it comes to leveling up our operation. Our warehouse hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:30 pm and the position is full benefits eligible.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership and Management:

• Supervision:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse team
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to warehouse staff
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and warehouse procedures
• Staffing:
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new warehouse team members
  • Collaborate with People Operations for temporary worker requests
  • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure optimal staffing levels
• Training and Development:
  • Provide training to warehouse employees on safety, processes, and equipment operation
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions
• Performance Management:
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback
  • Address disciplinary issues and implement corrective actions when necessary

Inventory and Supply Management:

• Inventory Control:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure regular stock checks and audits occur
• Supply Management:
  • Maintain adequate levels of warehouse supplies
  • Coordinate procurement of necessary supplies

Fulfillment Coordination:

• Scheduling:
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create daily and weekly fulfillment schedules
  • Ensure timely completion of orders to meet client requirements
• Order Processing:
  • Confirm the correct orders are being processed in accordance with the Fulfillment Schedule
  • Oversee the accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders
  • Monitor order status and proactively resolve any issues or delays
• Quality Control:
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate and safe order fulfillment
  • Address any discrepancies or quality issues
  • Emphasize the importance and high visibility of high-touch, white-glove projects as they arise

Safety and Compliance:

• Safety Regulations:
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct safety training for warehouse staff
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Perform final inspection on any shipments containing items identified as HAZMAT
  • Maintain records and documentation as required

• Reporting:
  • Completed shipments per day
  • Low stock monitoring
  • Error reporting
  • SWOT analysis for postmortem of projects
    • Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and fulfillment metrics
    • Provide reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of training, inventory, orders, and shipments
  • Prepare shipping documents and labels as needed

• Process Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
  • Implement best practices and process enhancements
  • Create and update SOPs to reflect lessons learned
• Problem Solving:
  • Drive a "can do" approach in all team members empowering them to work toward the solution using previous lessons learned prior to escalation
  • Address any operational challenges or issues promptly
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex problems

• Internal Communication:
  • Foster open and transparent communication developing a learning atmosphere and accountability
  • Liaise with other departments, such as Sales, Production, and Customer Service, to ensure smooth operations
• External Communication:
  • Interface with suppliers, carriers, and clients as necessary
  • Handle inquiries and resolve issues professionally

• Other duties, special projects, or reporting as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years experience in a warehouse environment
• 3 years experience in a supervisory role (warehouse environment a plus)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to multitask, have attention to detail, and be self-motivated
• Tech-savvy - must be familiar with Google Suite and Excel and able to easily pick up new software
• Technology background experience, especially IT a plus
• Manufacturing background a plus
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System is a plus, however, ample training will be provided in the onboarding process
• First Aid Certification is a plus
• Forklift (OSHA preferred) Certification a plus
• Able to lift up to 50lbs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with a high level of confidentiality
• The successful candidate must complete a background check

This position will be based at our warehouse office on Carowinds Blvd in Charlotte, NC. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, at this time we are not able to provide sponsorship.
