We constructed a state-of-the-art powdered milk ingredient processing facility on a 30-acre site in Turlock, CA. The plant is designed for and has the capacity to process 2.5 MM pounds of raw milk per day. The company is owned by a highly successful group of dairymen and related dairy professionals (Founders). The Founders have a well-capitalized company managed by seasoned executives and highly trained personnel. Founded in 2014, the company’s construction commenced in June 2016 and started operations at the beginning of 2018. Our vision is to be a leading processor of specialty milk powder ingredients that are marketed globally.

The Production Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager. Five (5) Production Supervisors report to the Production Manager.

Position Overview: As the Production Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining the highest standards of product quality. You will lead a team of production staff, manage resources, and implement strategies to optimize production and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of dairy production, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards, including HACCP and GMP.

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.

  • Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality control.

  • Identify and address any production issues or inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that all products meet company and industry standards.

  • Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to enhance their skills and performance.

  • Develop and manage production budgets, including cost control and waste reduction strategies.

  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve production processes and technologies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or equal years in related field. Relevant certifications are a plus. (significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)

  • At least 10 years in food production environment with proven experience in dairy manufacturing or a similar food production environment, with at least 7 years in a managerial role.

  • Strong understanding of dairy production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.

  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
