We are actively looking for an HR Generalist to join our high performing team.

Under the guidance and direction of the HR Director, the HR Generalist is responsible for enhancing department functions by planning, implementing and developing training, onboarding, and employee orientation programs, the administration of employee benefits, payroll administration, annual benefits audit preparation, maintaining employee handbook and HR procedures manual, and answer employee questions regarding pay, benefits, policies and procedures.


What You Will Do:

The HR Generalist is responsible for handling a variety of HR functions and supporting the HR department in all aspects of human resources management. This role involves ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing employee relations, handling recruitment, and overseeing various HR programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

The Human Resource Generalist will perform the following duties along with any additional duties as assigned by management per business needs.

Onboarding:

• Coordinate and conduct recruitment activities including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates.

• Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and paperwork.

Employee Relations:

• Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.

• Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees or between employees and management.

• Promote a positive work environment and assist in maintaining employee morale.

Compliance & Policy Management:

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

• Update and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are in alignment with legal requirements.

Training & Development:

• Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs.

• Assist with organizing workshops, seminars, and other training activities.

Performance Management:

• Support performance appraisal processes and provide guidance on performance management.

• Assist with setting performance goals and development plans.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Administer employee benefits programs and handle related inquiries.

• Assist with salary administration, including market research and compensation analysis.

HR Administration:

• Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR databases.

• Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review.

• Handle employee leave requests and ensure proper documentation.

Health & Safety:

• Support health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

• Assist with the management of workplace accidents and incidents.

Skills:

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and external stakeholders.

• Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mediate conflicts and promote a positive work environment.

• Organizational: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple HR functions simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Analytical: Strong analytical skills for performance management, compensation analysis, and evaluating training needs.

• Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address employee concerns, compliance issues, and performance management challenges.

• Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

• Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and other HR-related software.

• Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and evolving organizational needs.

• Proactive Attitude: Initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, employee relations, and compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or other relevant HR certifications are a plus.

• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

• Understanding of HR best practices and policies, including those related to onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compensation.

• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and outlook are required

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Ability to perform all office activities typically expected in an office setting, including:

o Remaining seated for extended periods.

o Engaging in computer work.

o Participating in filing tasks.

o Lifting and carrying office supplies (up to 25 pounds).

• Regularly required to talk and hear while performing job duties.

• Fine hand manipulation skills (such as keyboarding).

• Exposure to general office conditions during work.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
