Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our quality team as a Quality Engineer in Clarion, IA.

As a Quality Engineer located in Clarion, Iowa, you will be responsible for all quality planning and production support for the parts-making business unit (fabrication, welding, and paint departments).  As part of these duties, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing tactical line support for production in fabrication, welding, and painting areas
  • Working with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, operations, supply chain, product support, and design
  • Leading quality planning activities such as Functional Geometry Reviews, FMEA, Weld Fixture Validations, etc.
  • Leading defect analysis and issue resolution team meeting for containment, root cause, and permanent corrective action
  • Leading cross-functional alignment to develop and implement quality systems and processes to support production sustainability
  • Leading a team of quality technicians and CMM (ROMER) technicians on day-to-day activities

 

Qualifications

What Skills You Need

  • Three or more years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, especially Welding
  •  Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with leading meetings to drive root cause, manage issue resolution, and assure project activity dates are on time
  • Effective communicator, who thrives on solving problems and improving processes
  • Demonstrated ability to work on cross functional teams

What Makes You Stand Out

  •   Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  •  Knowledge of weld technology developments, processes, and practices
  •  Experience using advanced quality tools such as Design of Experiments
  •  Greenbelt Six Sigma
  •  Experience with weld fixture design

Education or Relevant Work Experience
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials, Metallurgical, or Weld engineering
  • In lieu of degree - Three or more years’ proven experience in manufacturing or engineering
