Primary Function:
Coordinates the delivery of developmentally appropriate instructional programs as prescribed by
21st CCLC agreements. The Director is responsible for managing and leading 21st CCLC
Academics and Personal Enrichment activities. The Project Director is responsible for working
with the Site Coordinators/Club Directors in assisting with the supervision of the certified teachers.
This position provides instructional leadership to the project and manages daily activities at the
sites, including staff and participant attendance management. The incumbent will set the
performance standards and actively work with 21st CCLC teachers and students to develop and
maintain a highly effective learning environment. The Project Director will also work with adult
family members and manage regularly occurring family programs in order to engage family members
in students' education. This position will coordinate community partners and contracted services to
enhance experiences for students. This position requires skill in planning and organizing services; in
maintaining records, preparing written reports, and in maintaining effective working relationships with
others. The Project Director maintains positive and engaging relationships with school administration,
community partners, and stakeholders. The Project Director will work in collaboration with target
schools to better serve 21st CCLC participants and their families.
Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities):
Resource Development
Leverage existing resources, including local after-school enrichment programs, youth
development education groups, schools, and resource centers to improve BGC programs
and raise the visibility of the organization.
Cultivate relationships with local youth development and after school enrichment
organizations, educators, and philanthropists, and corporations that support the
program, its students, and families.
Build strategic partnerships that bring value and opportunity to the program,
its students, and the organization.
Encourage parents to view the Club as a safe and supportive place for youth to go for
services, education, and fun activities.
Program Development and Management:
Develop, plan, and implement developmentally appropriate instructional programs as
prescribed by the 21st CCLC agreements, to meet 21st CCLC outcomes.
Supervise the on-going provision of services in specific clubs and schools.
Be responsible to recruit, interview, select and recommend for hire all teachers, enrichment
instructors, and other staff assigned to the 21st CCLC program.
Review and analyze student academic achievement to inform decisions on program
quality.
Compile documentation for evidence of delivery and grant reporting.
Coordinate and oversee delivery of family programs based on the needs of adult family
members and to promote family engagement of 21st CCLC participants.
Support staff and provide instructional leadership in the specific academic and enrichment
content areas.
Develop and deliver a comprehensive staff development plan that supports teachers and
facilitates an environment in which 21st CCLC outcomes are met.
Master an array of tools, including E and student database systems to manage program
and participant data, and prepare necessary reports.
Institute a comprehensive internal control system for all purchases and services.
Responsible for recruitment of students from eligible schools to ensure that
contracted participation levels are achieved.
Work with CFO in collecting, maintaining information used for preparing financial
and activity reports to funders.
Create and maintain a working relationship with participating school principals,
administrators, and the school district to recruit low-performing students from listed feeder
schools.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local mandates specific to the 21st CCLC
program.
Maintain an inventory of curriculum-related materials and equipment for the 21st CCLC
program.
Develop an advocacy plan to promote the program, its successes and build funding support.
Assist in the development of a sustainability plan for the Boys & Girls Club of Palm
Beach County 21st CCLC program.
Supervise the delivery and quality of all contracted services.
Work closely with Club staff to ensure that 21st CCLC and club programs are
blended and implemented cohesively across clubs.
Ensure that all 21st CCLC staff are trained in the rules of the BGCPBC and can maintain
and enforce club policy at all times.
This position coordinates the delivery of quality family care and ensures necessary
services for 21st CCLC participants adult family members.
Responsible for the dissemination of the 21st CCLC programs to parents, community,
and schools.
Relationships:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and
volunteer) Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss
issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintain contact and build relationships with community groups, schools,
external staff
and volunteers, and others to recruit or to assist in resolving challenges.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
Minimum of 5 years teaching, grant, youth development or administrative experience.
Knowledge of K-12 public education.
Experience working with youth in an after-school setting.
Knowledge of youth development best practices.
Understanding of public funding, records management, reporting requirements, and budget
practices.
Ability to supervise and motivate students in a fluid environment.
Ability to enforce Boys & Girls Clubs rules and policies in a fair and equitable manner.
Strong leadership skills (management/supervisory experience).
Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening) and strong conflict resolution
skills.
Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook)
Strong organizational skills.
Strong administrative skills/experience required.
Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Valid Florida Driver's License with safe driving record.
