Baily International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations at our production facility in Waycross, GA. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for optimal production efficiency and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating with other departments, and managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations at the assigned production facility within Baily International. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained to ensure optimal production efficiency and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians, coordinate with other departments, and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Management:
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Oversee corrective maintenance activities to address equipment failures and breakdowns promptly.
  • Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, USDA, etc.).
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Budget Management:
    • Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, including expenditures for repairs, spare parts, and equipment upgrades.
    • Monitor and control maintenance costs to achieve financial objectives.
  • Equipment and Facility Management:
    • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
    • Ensure the facility is maintained in good condition, including building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and grounds.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management:
    • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for maintenance services, parts, and equipment.
    • Assist the plant’s Maintenance Planner to negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure cost-effective solutions as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance maintenance efficiency and reliability.
    • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in maintenance practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field, preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance management within a food manufacturing (USDA preferred) or similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, machinery, and equipment used in food manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management software (CMMS).
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in maintenance management (e.g., CMRP, CPMM).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to loud noises, hazardous materials, and varying temperatures (not related to weather), extreme temperatures- cold and hot (not related to weather).
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to address emergency maintenance issues.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all parts of the company equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May experience prolonged periods or sitting, walking, standing and frequent need for kneeling, crouching, reaching with arms and hands.
