Teacher - Child Care Center Position in Stockton, CA


Compensation: $22.00 per hour with an AA Degree and $24.00 per hour with a BA Degree


Perks: Up to two weeks of vacation time 6 sick days 9 paid holidays Medical, Dental, and Vision offered


Position Details:


Title: State Preschool Teacher Supervisor: Site Supervisor


Job Type: Full-time, 12 months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and supervision of quality education in CSPP or CCTR programs
  • Creation of educational initiatives for children
  • Establishment of positive connections with children and families
  • Cooperation with peers and management
  • Ensuring adherence to regulations
Compensation:

$22 - $24 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a well-organized environment that embraces diversity and inclusivity, respecting all aspects of children's backgrounds.
  • Ensure a variety of materials and equipment are provided and regularly rotated within the learning environment.
  • Implement an outdoor curriculum that promotes physical and social development by extending indoor activities outside.
  • Utilize the Environmental Rating Scale tool to evaluate classroom quality effectively.
  • Create and execute high-quality lesson plans based on The Creative Curriculum.
  • Observe and document children's progress using the Child Plus DRDP assessment.
  • Evaluate each child using the Desired Results Developmental Profile 2015 (DRDP 15) and create personalized education plans with specific developmental goals.
  • Collaborate with parents to conduct age-appropriate ASQ-3 screenings and refer for further assessments when needed.
  • Implement the Teaching Pyramid approach to support social and emotional development in children.
  • Establish clear behavior expectations with a focus on safety, friendliness, and respect in the classroom.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule, routines, and smooth transitions for children's daily activities.
  • Ensure the safety, health, and nutrition of all children in accordance with regulations.
  • Supervise children to maintain a safe environment at all times, following required ratios.
  • Develop and implement detailed care plans for classrooms and playgrounds, including staff responsibilities and zoning maps.
  • Provide food service support following CACFP policies and maintain accurate meal records.
  • Uphold health practices like handwashing, glove-wearing, and medication administration.
  • Conduct daily assessments of indoor and outdoor environments, following emergency plans and conducting drills.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities and training sessions.
  • Foster positive communication with families and participate in Child Success Team meetings.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure classroom expectations are met consistently.
  • Represent the agency's values and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth and maintain required records accurately.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications for Teacher:

  • Current California Teacher Permit or higher.
  • AA degree or higher in Child Development or related field preferred.
  • Three infant/toddler units are required if working with children from birth to three years of age.
  • Two years of relevant experience teaching/working with children, 0-5, and their families.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with families and coworkers with compassion and free from judgment.
  • Read, understand, interpret, and apply policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.


Essential Physical Functions (including classroom and outdoor environments)

  • Physically capable of responding in a timely manner to the children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that may occur within a childcare center environment.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 30 lbs. (from floor to waist) in a repetitive manner.
  • Physically capable of assisting children when needed to ensure their safety in the play area.
  • Physically able to crouch, squat, sit, and stand on the floor (up to 30 minutes), to relate to the children in their environment.
  • Able to handle commotion, high noise levels, and pressures of the Center on a daily basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
