We are looking for an experienced payroll specialist to oversee our company's payroll processing. This individual will oversee all functions of the payroll process, ensuring complete, accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly and off cycle payrolls for multiple locations. The payroll specialist manager's duties include collaborating with human resources and accounting departments, balancing and review of all payrolls, investigation, and correction of errors, and ensuring efficient payroll processing. Successful candidates will have exceptional excel skills and thrive in a fast paced, high-volume environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll and off cycle payrolls for multiple locations.
  • Ensures payroll accuracy, resolves payroll and timekeeping issues, audits and reviews payroll results and prepares payroll documents and reports for management.
  • Compiles payroll data, enters data or computes and posts wages, and reconciles errors, to maintain payroll records.
  • Compiles payroll data, such as hours worked from time exports and other records.
  • Prepares payroll imports, enters payroll data, and computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records.
  • Reviews wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy.
  • Record data concerning transfer of employees between locations.
  • Prepare and issue paychecks manual checks.
  • Responsible for reconciling PTO for all locations at year end.
  • Ensure payroll and HR module within the time and pay system are aligned.
  • Answer payroll inquiries and resolve all discrepancies as they arise.
  • Review and distribute bi-weekly time reports to managers.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee data, ensuring all payroll information, files and records are maintained in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Participates in modifications and enhancements to the time and pay systems.
  • Responsible for other related payroll duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing required, high-volume processing is a plus.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting
