Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSoutheast Texas HR is seeking a dependable Switchboard Operator to join our team in the hospital and healthcare industry. As our Switchboard Operator, you will be responsible for providing quality incoming and outgoing calls for staff, patients, and visitors. This is a part-time to full-time position and evenings, overnight, and weekends will be required. Pay will start at $13.96 per hour DOE.

Responsibilities
  • Refers to the hospital directory to ascertain station numbers of persons called and manipulates associated keys to relay calls. Pages authorized personnel and makes authorized announcements over the hospital paging system in a clear professional manner.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all policies and procedures related to emergency procedures within the facility to activate appropriate communications.
  • Implements emergency procedures in response to codes, alarms and the automated fire alarm system. Announces emergency messages associated with the alarm system in the PBX office over the hospital paging system and advises all designated personnel upon activation.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills effectively to provide outstanding customer service to all customers.
  • Answers all questions of callers clearly and professionally according to hospital policy.


RequirementsTo be considered for this position you MUST meet the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a phone operator.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and data entry.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and nights.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to obtain immunization records.
