POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Management Leader will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the company's project management office. This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project management standards, ensuring successful delivery of projects, and leading a team of project managers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading PMO functions in a logistics/3PL environment, exceptional leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in establishing and leading the PMO by defining project management standards and best practices, and developing strategies that align with the company's business objectives and growth plans
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the project management team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain project management policies, procedures, and templates.
  • Oversee project portfolio management, including prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Facilitate communication to align project objectives with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing transparency and fostering trust.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure project performance and drive accountability.
  • Lead change management efforts related to project initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Develop and execute change management plans, including communication and training strategies.

SECURITY

  • Complies with all company inventory control and security procedures and ensures compliance by others.
  • Possesses specific knowledge of safety protocols for the facility and customer accounts.

SAFETY

  • Complies with all government and company safety rules.
  • Reports promptly to supervision any safety violations of workers, safety noncompliance of facilities and equipment, and other safety issues.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • PMP or similar certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a 3PL or similar distribution/fulfillment company.
