Position Overview:
  • The individual in this role will have primary responsibility, or may operate under the guidance of a Project Director or Senior Project Manager.
  • The Project Manager I (PM-I) role entails overseeing, or assisting in overseeing, all aspects of project planning and execution to ensure that all success criteria are achieved, including but not limited to scope, timeline, budget, quality, environmental considerations, safety, communication, security, and integration.
  • This position is generally assigned to multiple projects categorized as "White" or "Green I" according to the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix. Collectively, these projects typically have a budget of less than $10M and present a Low to Moderate level of complexity, impacting only the facility or departmental level within the organization.
  • The PM-I acts as the central figure providing leadership, management, direction, coordination, and control of the overall project in alignment with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of US Tech Solutions, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble / Staff / Lead Project Team. Provide leadership, oversight management, delegation, and coordination to various internal and external entities contributing services to the project (development, engineering, project controls, estimating, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, communications, regulatory, security, fuels, transmission, etc.). The PM is responsible for managing all matrixed team members daily and interfacing with functional managers regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution.
  • Establish and maintain communication among all project/program stakeholders. Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project-related meetings and reports necessary to ensure open communication between all team members, key stakeholders, and management (monthly project reviews, kickoff meetings, weekly reports, monthly reports, etc.) and to accurately report project status. Ensure that the Project Plan, all relevant reports, and reporting mechanisms are developed and managed according to PMCoE Standards. Present reports to the appropriate management/governance team effectively.
  • Plan (or assist in planning) the assigned projects, including scope, timeline, budget, safety, and quality aspects. Drive the project planning process, which includes scope definition, estimating, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. This encompasses project planning and execution activities such as scope definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management.
  • Execute projects (or assist in project execution) according to the Plan within defined scope, budget, and timeline limits. This includes objectives, stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions and constraints, deliverables, WBS, schedule, external communication, regulatory strategy, procurement strategy, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plan, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, data management plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project closeout.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree AND
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience required
  • In lieu of a degree, High School/GED AND a minimum of 5 years related experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient knowledge in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
  • Experience in project-related work
  • Risk Management expertise
  • Project Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability as a Collaborative Team Member
  • Experience in the Utility sector
  • Knowledge of Construction Management
  • Proficient knowledge in project-related Scheduling/Cost Controls
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Utility Technical Certifications/Training
  • PMI (PMP or CAPM) Certification
  • CMII certificates
  • Professional Engineer License
