Position Summary:

As an Ophthalmic Technician Supervisor, you will play a vital role managing the workflow of clinical staff through the direction of the Center Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring that daily tasks are completed efficiently and assist all technicians, when needed.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Create and coordinate staff schedules in accordance with clinic needs, filling in when necessary
  • Manage time and attendance for staff, along with all PTO requests
  • Coach, train, and guide all team members in order to maintain integrity of office staff, as well as leading team members along discussed career trajectories
  • Conduct regular employee reviews as appropriate and assist lead team members in managing their staff
  • Organize and conduct regular team meetings
  • Consult with Center Manager on problems and interpretation of policies to ensure patient needs are met
  • Develop and implement protocols for continuing education of all technical staff
  • Plan and organize in-service training programs
  • Perform patient workups and diagnostic testing as required by most senior level clinical staff
  • Manage all employee and patient relations, including conflict resolution
  • Maintain integrity of office equipment and smooth flow of patient care
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records and by maintaining accuracy of diagnostic and procedure coding
  • Manage inventory supply needs for the office and verify receipt of goods
  • Actively participate in continuing education by attending relevant educational classes/webinars and staying abreast of all industry best practices
  • Special projects and other duties may be assigned as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory experience in an Ophthalmic clinic setting
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Strong organization and leadership/management skills
  • Solid attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure individually and as part of a team

Work Schedule:

  • Rotating Schedule – days, evenings and weekends

Salary Range:

  • $27.00- $29.00 /hour to commensurate with experience
