We are seeking an Kitchen Manager at Tiki Tatsu-Ya The candidate will be responsible for planning and directing food preparation in kitchen. This involves a large degree of supervising other kitchen staff, as well as keeping an eye out for problems that arise and seizing control of a situation at a moment’s notice. At this location, the kitchen is situated in a food trailer next to the building.


Job Duties:

  • Supervising employees, assigning duties, and creating a shift schedule
  • Monitoring team performance and ensuring duties are performed efficiently
  • Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to the General Manager
  • Managing employee requests
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards
  • Coaching team members and training new staff
  • Handling customer issues and employee disputes
  • Maintain positive attitude
  • Excel in a team environment
  • Communicate effectively
  • Follow directions and procedures
  • Work to quality standards
  • Read and execute recipes
  • Perform tasks repeatedly
  • Effectively utilize basic cooking techniques
  • Operate and maintain basic kitchen equipment
  • Having an understanding of the restaurant industry preferred, but necessary

Requirements:


Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Toast knowledge is preferred but not required

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a management role preferred, especially in a kitchen role
  • Must successfully complete state required certification and obtain food handlers credentials

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
