Position Overview:

Canton Drop Forge, a leading producer of large, closed die forgings in Canton, Ohio, is seeking a 2nd Shift Foreman – Heat Treat + Final Inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage off-shift Heat Treat and Inspection employees to ensure high performance work and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
  • Process Management: Oversee Inspection and Heat Treat processes, ensuring proper equipment function and work practices. Monitor quality overchecks of forgings in collaboration with Final Inspection leadership. Coordinate with other departments to address process, equipment, or quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure safety protocols are followed and met among all employees. Review and oversee proper PPE usage by role.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and analyze department metrics to identify areas of improvement or shortcomings. Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency. Maintain accurate work records and documentation.
  • Communication & Coordination: Act as liaison between 2nd shift team and management. Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment or process issues. Ensure smooth shift transitions by providing detailed handover reports and instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience within Final Inspection and/or Heat Treatment processes. Proven experience within leadership or supervision roles.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management. Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control practices. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the manufacturing plant for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access files, equipment, and supplies.
