Our client, Dan's Overhead Doors, is looking for an Human Resources (HR) Coordinator for their shop located in North Liberty, Iowa.

This fast-paced business is in need of a detail-oriented team player with a positive attitude.   Roles and responsibilities can change depending on the needs of the organization, making versatility and a positive attitude a must.  The office is a casual, friendly environment.

 

As a member of the Dan’s Overhead Door team, the Human Resources/ Safety Coordinator will be responsible to:

 

Human Resources:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee requests and questions.
  • Complete the new hires and terminations process; including background checks, MVR requests, scheduling pre-employment physicals, onboarding, and reference checks as needed.
  • Complete I-9 forms, verify acceptable I-9 documentation, and maintain I-9 files.
  • Coordinate recruitment and interview process as needed.
  • Serve as administrator for benefits and 401K
  • Manage company benefits for new hires, participant changes, and terminations.
  • Accurately prepare and maintain employee files.
  • Maintain employee PTO records and balances.
  • Record timesheet totals for payroll and complete bi-weekly payroll.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Safety:

  • Process first report of injury forms.
  • Maintain incident and injury reports and tracking.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and record keeping.
  • Investigate incidents. Monitor, track, and record medical care.
  • Assist in conducting safety inspections, meetings, and training programs.
  • Create and conduct new safety orientation program.
  • Schedule safety trainings such as OSHA 10 hour, CPR & First Aid, and site specific trainings.
  • Maintain safety and compliance sites such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce, and Gatefeed.
  • Complete contractor pre-qualification applications.
  • Complete requests for Certificates of Insurance.
  • Assist with general office needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with human resources and payroll processes, benefits, onboarding processes, handing employee relations issues, organization & employee investigations.
  • Proficiency in maintaining records and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, primarily Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to balance multiple responsibilities and prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and resourceful
  • Personable and come with a can-do attitude
