Vancouver, United States Globalcybers Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

The client is looking for a full-time civil or environmental engineer to work on generalist projects such as civil site development, brownfield rehabilitation, environmental remediation, and stormwater system and treatment design. The ideal candidate will also be interested in consulting. As a Staff Civil or Environmental Engineer, you will be able to participate in both fieldwork and office responsibilities, giving a dynamic and engaging experience.

As our Staff Civil or Environmental Engineer, you will...

be at the forefront of both fieldwork and office operations, giving you the rare chance to experience the best of both worlds. Your work will involve a wide range of tasks, including on-site construction monitoring to ensure that projects are built according to our specifications. You will receive important hands-on experience by working on activities including CAD design, cost estimation, report writing, and stormwater modeling.

You will actively participate in various exciting projects that may include:

  • Civil site design for a renewable energy development.
  • Port sediment remediation and marine bulkhead design.
  • Stormwater treatment design for a wood product factory.

You will collaborate with a licensed engineer to generate engineering designs and specifications, support project bidding and contract solicitation, and help establish and implement proposals, scopes, timelines, and budgets. You will also conduct extensive quality control evaluations and negotiate with clients and regulatory organizations. Be prepared for a combination of office and fieldwork, particularly during the summer months, and appreciate the challenge of working alone and in groups while receiving advice from mentors.

To thrive in this role, you must have...

  • BS in civil engineering or environmental engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in consulting.
  • EIT Certification.
  • Interest in working in consulting on projects such as site development design, brownfield redevelopment, environmental remediation design, hydraulics and hydrology, and stormwater system and treatment design.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and vocal communication abilities, since report writing will be one of your frequent responsibilities.
  • Aptitude at utilizing AutoCAD design software, particularly Civil 3D.
  • Capable of driving and ready to go to regional projects on occasion.
  • Ability to undertake physical tasks such as lifting, using breathing apparatus and other safety gear, and navigating harsh terrain.
  • Ability to work well as a team member, both independently and cooperatively, completing a project successfully for a client within the scope, time, and budget.
