Job Description:

As the Head of Engineering, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution of our product development. You will lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and innovative solutions. This role requires a hands-on leader with a passion for technology, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong background in software development and engineering management. The roles you’ll oversee span from software development to data engineering to network engineering. The role will require a broad understanding for how all these roles fit together to built best in class technology.

The Role:

  1. Leadership and Strategy
    1. Develop and execute the overall engineering strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
    2. Provide technical leadership and direction (without prescription) to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
    3. Work closely with the CEO and executive team to define product roadmaps and prioritize engineering initiatives.
    4. Communicate engineering plans, progress, and challenges to internal and external stakeholders, including investors and customers.
  2. Team Building and Management
    1. Recruit, hire, and mentor a top-tier engineering team, ensuring the right mix of skills and experience to meet current and future needs that are aligned with the company’s values
    2. Establish and maintain a high-performance engineering culture with clear goals, regular feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
    3. Manage team performance, set clear objectives, and provide regular performance feedback
  3. Product Development
    1. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge telecom technology products.
    2. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software releases.
    3. Regularly report on product development throughput and status on work in flight 
  4. Innovation and R&D
    1. Drive the technical innovation agenda, exploring new technologies and methodologies to keep the company at the forefront of the telecom industry.
    2. Collaborate with other departments to identify and evaluate new product opportunities and enhancements.
    3.  Lead research and development efforts to create breakthrough solutions and intellectual property.
  5. Technical Operations
    1. Lead the design of our technical infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
    2. Establish and maintain efficient and thoughtful engineering processes, documentation, and standards that line up with company stage and priorities, balancing speed and quality
    3. Lead a team that addresses and resolves technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to product development and delivery.
