Job DescriptionJob Description

540 is looking for a Technical Project Manager to help lead a rapid software prototype delivery build for the Department of Defense. We are looking for a startup-minded individual with strong technical acumen to work with our Technical Lead closely on an Agile Scrum team. In this project, you will be supporting the implementation of a data-centric platform that collects data from various sources and displays that data into a senior leader dashboard.

At 540, our PMs are called Project Anchors. They have overall accountability of the project's success as determined at the outset of the project. You'll be planning, leading, organizing and motivating the team to achieve a high-level of performance and quality, while achieving client success. You'll work closely with the Technical Lead and Product Owner to develop the project and product roadmap and ensure that what's needed is what's built. You'll be interacting with internal and external stakeholders, data owners, technical developers and business analysts as needed, so strong technical and business communication is key.

Location: Arlington, VA preferred, with considerable remote work (occasional onsite meetings)
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, DoD Secret clearance is preferred or must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 8+ years of IT-related experience
  • Government IT contract project management experience
  • Strong client resolution skills
  • Very strong communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Must have strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to think outside the box... and on your feet
  • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities, last minute changes
  • Experience managing traditional waterfall-style projects using PMI methodology
  • Experience with Microsoft project or similar software
  • Experience in working with technical leads to translate business requirements into innovative and inspiring solutions
  • Ability to give presentations and briefings to clients and stakeholder user groups at all levels of leadership
  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the business needs in order to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Must have a deep understanding of relational databases, including making calls to them,
  • Must possess a general understanding of report building logic
  • Google Suite experience
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • PMP Certification
  • Agile Certification
  • Familiarization with Atlassian's Suite, such as Jira (or equivalent) for use in Agile issue management, backlogs, and team metrics/reporting
  • Experience delivering software for Federal agencies (specifically DoD) and the Security, Accessibility, and Technical policies that apply
  • Deep understanding of relational databases
  • Familiarity with business intelligence reporting applications, such as Qlik Sense, Oracle OBIEE
  • Familiarity with big data architectures, cloud computing, Databricks, Python, SQL, ADVANA
  • Understanding of how federal contracts work, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations System
