Position Description:
The Safety Manager performs functions to execute all aspects of the safety programs, including but not limited to development, implementation, compliance, training, and reporting for Ed Miniat LLC.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures that operations are executed in compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Builds capability of site resources to support implementation of EHS programs
- Administers all aspects of the safety programs that empower employee participation in all areas of the organization
- Develops safety and environmental risk assessments and develops/implements appropriate controls
- Conducts hazard analysis for any new product or process
- Maintains hazard analysis and risk assessment records in accordance with all regulatory and customer requirements
- Coordinates safety audit processes with direction from corporate and plant safety management
- Prepares, maintains, and submits all required safety reports
- Supports management coordination with outside local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and company vendors associated with safety and environmental programs
- Participates in the incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans and track completion of corrective actions
- Supports contractor safety program by being involved with the record management and interfacing with contractors to ensure compliance
- Participates as team member to ensure all aspects of the PSM program are up to date and in compliance
- Researches and communicates worker safety rules and regulations to appropriate management personnel
- Creates and/or updates internal safety and environmental policies as needed
- Facilitates/supports safety committees and regular safety meetings company wide
- Responsible for safety communication throughout the facility through various methods of transmittance
- Trains, coaches, and counsels staff members, as necessary, on regulatory compliance and safety awareness
- Leads and improves the company’s environmental, health, and safety management systems in a manner which assures all employees are safe and healthy, and that we handle materials in an environmentally sound manner without jeopardizing timely delivery and competitive costs.
- Provides training, communication, and leadership that promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization, including company-wide awareness of, and compliance with, all safety procedures, regulations, and policies.
- Works with plant management when incorporating occupational health and safety considerations into the design specification, purchase, lease and supply of new plant equipment, materials, products, and substances used in the workplace.
- Establishes a sustaining Emergency Response (ER) program that is responsive, effective, and provides reliable coverage.
- Leads people and facilitates risk assessment and emergency response.
- Ensures accidents and incidents are being reported in a timely fashion and follow-up as necessary for closure.
- Provides a comprehensive and accurate monthly report containing appropriate metrics.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA) in safety management or similar field
- 3 to 5 years environmental and worker safety experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Experience in strategic planning, policy development and hazard recognition
- Knowledgeable in federal, state, and local regulatory requirements for air, water, and land environmental, HACCP, OSHA, PSM, First Aid, CPR, Blood Borne Pathogen, Confined Space
- Risk assessment/Strong Change Management
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Excellent knowledge of legislation and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Proven experience in training and delivery
- Proficient with various computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office
- Create a high performing culture of risk awareness
Preferred Requirements:
