Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The role of the HR Manager, Operations is to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to full cycle recruitment, enforcing company policies and procedures, performance management and employee relations and HR initiatives for the Operational sites.

The HR Manager will lead and demonstrate the values and culture of “The Unipart Way” by adopting lean management principles and approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manager the full cycle recruitment process which may include job description review, interviewing and hiring; collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with department leaders to stay connected to the business and provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders to include coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions
  • Manage Employee Engagement survey process and feedback session. Support the development of 3C deployment and best practice sharing.
  • Audit the HRIS system and ensure all updates are performed in a timely manner
  • Produce reports for management, including but not limited time and attendance, length of service, disciplinary action as needed.
  • Handle employee separation requirements including conducting exit interviews and sharing feedback with Managers.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and total rewards, research competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook; contribute to policy development and refinement
  • Recommend new approaches and procedures to effect continuous improvement in efficiency of department and services performed
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Partner with management to ensure a productive, efficient, and inclusive work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to travel to support other sites as required by the business (10% travel)

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of previous Human Resource experience; generalist experience preferred
  • Previous Management experience preferred
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, manufacturing experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to apply good judgment to situations and make recommendation to resolve problems
  • Strong conflict management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with human resource information systems (HRIS), preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to deal with conflict and maintain a engaged and productive work environment
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible with working hours to meet operating needs of the business

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
