Job Summary

The Director of Support & Outreach provides overall leadership for developing, implementing, evaluating, and marketing support and outreach programs. This role oversees program budgets and all relevant grants/contracts and activities to effectively meet the service requirements and assure support and outreach programs' financial viability and stability.


 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Grant and contract oversight, ensuring deliverables are met with timely and accurate reporting. Collaborating with other program managers to ensure data systems are effective in collecting information to support critical work deliverables.
  • Build upon existing programs and materials consistent with strategic plans, missions, and populations and fill identified service gaps.
  • Build the capacity of volunteer programming to enhance the organization’s ability to have a grassroots impact and amplify the voice of lived perspective.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to Support and Outreach programming.
  • Provides direction, assistance, and oversight for the NAMI NH programs function through training personnel and volunteers handling calls and sharing resource information available through NAMI NH.
  • Provide effective outreach and promotion of NAMI NH’s support, education, and leadership programs and our public policy platform.
  • Supervise employees both directly and indirectly.
  • While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, and walk, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • It may be necessary to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervision and program-related administration. Demonstrated experience in managing volunteers.
  • Personal Lived Experience with a loved one affected by mental illness and the experience of working towards family recovery.
  • Knowledge and experience in mental health, public policy, program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated writing, public speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use computers to develop, track, transfer, and access work-related information.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
