Poursteady is a growing Brooklyn-based manufacturer of commercial equipment for the specialty coffee industry. We are seeking an Assembly Technician to work 3 days/week at our headquarters in Gowanus. This is a 3-month temporary role, with the potential to be brought on as a permanent employee after that. Located in Gowanus, Brooklyn, Poursteady is a small team of artists, engineers, designers, and professionals making products without compromise that serve the growing international specialty coffee industry. Our brand and design philosophy focus on the needs of all the stakeholders-from the customer to the barista to the shop owner and coffee roaster, as well as those of our own employees, our distributors, and the technicians that service our products in the field.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assemble robotic coffee machines and subassemblies with consistency and precision
  • Follow detailed instructions and adapt to evolving standard operating procedures
  • Prepare and package shipments for customers
  • Maintain rigorous testing and quality control for each assembly and machine
  • Communicate inventory needs, shortages, and assembly issues with the Manufacturing Operations Manager
  • Keep work areas, tools, and parts organized, clean, and orderly
  • Work in an artisanal manufacturing environment that adheres to lean manufacturing practices
  • Lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
  • Ability or willingness to learn how to operate a pallet jack
  • Assist with inventory counts as needed
  • Facility using computers and learning manufacturing-specific software applications

  • Lives in NYC and can reliably commute to Gowanus
  • Likes coffee is a big plus

Working at Poursteady

  • $25/hour starting wage for part time employees
  • This is a temporary position that may become permanent based on manufacturing needs and growth of the company.
  • Report to Manufacturing Operations Manager
  • Our business is open 10am-6pm Monday-Friday. We are looking for someone to start 3 days/week, 8 hours/day, preferably Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but open to discuss time and hours.
  • Paid sick leave accrued as hours are worked with a max of 56 hours/year.
