The company's initial three programs – VERVE-101, VERVE-102, and VERVE-201 – target genes that have been extensively validated as targets for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), a root cause of cardiovascular disease. VERVE-101 and VERVE-102 are designed to permanently turn off the PCSK9 gene in the liver and are being developed initially for heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) and ultimately to treat atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) patients not at goal on oral therapy. VERVE-201 is designed to permanently turn off the ANGPTL3 gene in the liver and is initially being developed for homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) and ultimately to treat patients with refractory hypercholesterolemia. The Position

Verve's dynamic HR team is excited to welcome an experienced HR Business Partner to support our growing Technical Operations and G&A organizations. As a trusted advisor to your client groups, you will act as both a strategic partner and a detail-oriented executor. We seek someone with a strong business acumen, capable of building and developing talent at all levels while maintaining a people-first approach. Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources, our ideal candidate values excellence and innovation and thrives on managing multiple projects simultaneously. This hybrid role requires three days per week at our Boston headquarters.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build and cultivate strong partnerships with leaders and managers to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy ensuring a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of cultural and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and ensure pull-through into our HR processes.
  • Partner with client groups on organizational design and workforce planning to scale the organization for future growth, applying past experience to anticipate potential organizational challenges.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to develop job descriptions and support strong talent identification and integration.
  • Lead or collaborate in building or enhancing and driving successful rollout of key HR programs including workforce planning, talent review, performance management, promotion process, compensation planning, and employee engagement. Analyze data and prepare presentations for various audiences.
  • Work closely with both management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Facilitate employee relations in a positive, fair, and proactive manner with exceptional judgement.
  • Support teams in understanding and digesting employee feedback and partner on initiatives to strengthen team culture.
  • Facilitate new-hire check-ins and departing employee exit interviews, synthesize themes, diagnose root causes, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Business, Management, Human Resources, or related field with 8+ years of Human Resources experience, ideally with time spent in the biotech or pharmaceutical space.
  • Experience with a high growth organization.
  • Exceptional communicator, influencer, and relationship-builder.
  • Proven track record of handling a variety of employee relations issues with a solid understanding of employment law.
  • Exceptional judgment and integrity when making decisions, always considering the bigger picture.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use metrics to drive decisions.
  • Ability to work as part of collaborative HR team.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
