About us

VDL Industries Gainesville LLC is company number 99 in the VDL Groep and the first manufacturing facility in the U.S. Operations are from a state-of-the-art, 150,000-square-foot facility located in Flowery Branch, Georgia. The VDL Industries facility consists of the following work centers: laser cutting, metal forming, welding (MIG/TIG), electronic assembly/general assembly, sawing, drilling, shipping, storage opportunities, and Quality Control. VDL Industries utilizes a dedicated area for stainless steel welding and assembly operations.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication and sheet metal processes, along with the ability to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing workflows. This role is critical in ensuring our production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet the highest quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design and Optimization: Develop and improve manufacturing processes for fabrication and sheet metal, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality.
  • Workflow Analysis: Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement to reduce waste, increase productivity, and enhance product quality.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to the production team, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions in real-time.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to process improvements, new product introductions, and equipment upgrades.
  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, procedures, and equipment operations.
  • Training: Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices to ensure smooth implementation and adherence to standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on fabrication and sheet metal.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, CNC programming, and other relevant manufacturing technologies.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
