Summary Description: Bid Coordinator Assistant (BCA) is responsible for collecting, printing, filing, maintaining, and distributing all project documents. This position will aid all levels of staff on the estimating team.  BCA’s primary responsibility is to work alongside the Bid Coordinator and Estimators to help send out proposals to GCs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching new jobs via the internet and per request.
  • Preparation of typed proposals in Excel/Word.
  • Communication with plan holders which includes verification of discussions and written facts regarding each conversation.
  • Printing plans and checking for addendums including the relevancy of the addendums.
  • Bid schedule updates with comparisons to applicable vendors.
  • Bi-Weekly updates from the California of Transportation website to see what projects will be coming up to bid, including Minor B projects that apply to Tennyson Electric, Inc.
  • Prepare Bid Packages including all compliance items.
  • Organization of bid packages in the Plan Room Area post bid date.
  • Up-to-date results for all General Contractors and Sub-Contractor which include who was listed.
  • Assist Estimator with other bid-related items as needed.


Job/Education Requirements:

  • 0-1 year of construction experience
  • Attention to detail is a must; strong analytical skills are favored.
  • A valid CA Driver’s License is required.
  • Up to 15% travel time away from the office to deliver bids.
  • Bid practices and posts
  • Competent in math and percentages
  • Proficient in using company software programs including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Good time management and scheduling skills.
  • Strong organizational and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of construction documentation and pricing.
