Required
Law degree, or currently attendingan ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legalresearch procedures, and legal research resources. Requires excellent written and oralcommunication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such asLEXIS and Westlaw. Must have hands-onfamiliarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing,databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets,and imaging. Role also requireshands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures andresources.

Responsibilities:
· Working with attorneys and staff atthe Civil Division within the Department of Justice (DOJ) in daily paralegalefforts supporting the Consumer Protection Branch (CPB). The CPB "leadsthe Justice Department's efforts to enforce consumer protection statutesthroughout the United States. The Consumer Protection Branch cases are rootedin our nation's fundamental consumer protection laws, establishing crucialprecedents and protecting American consumers from threats to their health,safety, and wallet."
· Analyze and evaluate evidenceconnected with complex fraud schemes and identify potential legal theories toaddress unlawful activities.
· Prepare detailed reports thatinclude formal analyses and findings for developing and investigatingcases.
· Analyze records, reconstructevents, and develop information from a variety of sources through comprehensivefact-finding.
· Review massive datasets to identifysuspicious activities, unusual patterns, trends, and fraud. Law clerks perform legal research andanalysis and draft affidavits, subpoenas, legal memoranda, and briefs.
