- Assists attorneys with all phases of criminal litigation, including pretrial discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
- Reviews and analyzes documents, transcripts, files, and other materials to locate information and evidence relevant to investigative actions or responsiveness to grand jury subpoenas.
- Uses electronic databases to perform litigation support tasks, including reviewing, organizing, indexing, tagging, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials. Conducts database searches for documents and information.
- In addition to objective document review, performs document review of a subjective nature including coding materials for case-specific legal issue, themes, and areas for further investigation. Law Clerks will work more closely with Trial Attorneys to gain subject-matter knowledge of the industry under investigation.
- Assists attorneys in preparing for, and conducting, interviews with prospective fact witnesses, investigative sources, and expert witnesses.
- These positions are fully remote, but with a requirement to come into the office as needed (subject to change).
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or, an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
- Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
- Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools (Relativity) and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment.
Strongly Preferred:
- Document Review experience in Relativity. Familiarity with federal criminal investigations and trials is desirable.
