What you’ll need to win as a Project Accountant

We’re looking for a responsive, dependable doer. Someone who is willing to step up when something is needed and determined to fulfill their commitments. A person who’s passionate about bringing precise, reliable, and planful solutions in a unique combination of creativity and flexibility. A methodical architect, patient and empathetic, with clients - both internal and external - who could be having the worst day of their year during a devastating event such as a property loss. A typical day as a Project Accountant may include

In our client's eyes, the Project Accountant is the one buttoning up the last steps of their insurance claim, and processing any final invoices to get them back on their feet. The complex journey of deductibles and claims during water damage renovations can be especially challenging. Your work ensures we are able to solve difficult problems as a team and move forward together on projects. Sometimes, there are delays in this process that require a kind heart. A majority of this work is performed during normal business hours. On any given day, you may find yourself preparing invoices and reports, interfacing with clients and business professionals in the industry, and working with a fabulously dynamic team in one of the most fast-paced markets in the Southeast. A majority of your projects will occur in condominiums, townhomes, and high-rise residential properties across the city.

Project Accountant might be for you if

Helping others is who you are - it’s in your DNA. You’re incredibly patient, level-headed, and cool under pressure. You can explain just about anything to anyone - even when they’re in a state of panic. 


You are relentless when it comes to wowing customers and exceeding their needs. You have the bedside manner to tactfully tell people what they need to hear and the discernment on when best to do so.


You enjoy difficult challenges and finding creative solutions. You don’t get flustered easily, but expect there to be times of great frustration. You are sensitive and empathetic to the inconvenient circumstances the client is enduring, and are determined to create the silver lining. Instinctively, you find the positive in any situation.


You jump at the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on a project. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch, because you diligently document progress and plan ahead. 


You appreciate and thrive in a flexible work environment. You work equally well in the field or in the office (Atlanta, Marietta). You understand that working late nights and weekends are sometimes needed.


You are comfortable working with large and complicated projects. Your idea of success is creating an exceptional experience for both the client and your team members, logistically solving impossible scenarios, and touching the lives of others. Your computational skills are out of this world, and your spreadsheets can easily be the difference between a good job and a great job.


You are so confident working with numbers and reports, you could provide an in-depth analysis of Newton’s Method on the Basin of Attraction with your eyes closed, and still be home in time for dinner. Your people skills make you charming, competent, and reliable.

Required and nice-to-have skills as a Project Accountant

A high school diploma is required. Any additional educational background is welcomed.

Advanced computer skills and proficiency with a Mac. Experience using Google Business Suite and Salesforce.

Restoration or Construction field experience is a plus.


Success as a Project Accountant will look like

Your success is measured by the completed project to not invoiced ratios, minimized billing age, compliant auditing, accurate and timely documentation, and the ability to create relationships with team members. Growth opportunities include roles such as Accounts Payable, Quality Assurance, Estimating, and Assistant Project Management.
