Part time Animal control officer needed

*MUST have experience working with animals and the public*

Duties

  • Patrols for stray dogs and other loose animals or livestock.
  • Receives and responds to all complaints of' loose dogs, feral cats, wild animals, injured animals and all complaints pertaining to animals.
  • Investigates and reports on all known incidents of animal bites to humans.
  • Transports animals to appropriate shelter
  • Prepares all factual documents that pertain to the prosecution of local by law violations.
  • Removes and disposes of any deceased animals from public roads.
  • Trains new Assistant Animal Control Officers, as needed.
  • Supports Animal Inspector with inspections of facilities where farm animals are kept.
  • Attends night meetings, as necessary.
  • Responds to emergency after-hour calls.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months' experience working with animals is desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
