A Day on the Job:
Our Meter Technicians regularly troubleshoot, repair and document problems with water meters and the reading devices. They use District-provided equipment to program, record, and receive accurate meter readings to bill customers appropriately. They are also an important part of our Customer Service team. Our Meter Technicians respond to customer questions about service at their home or business.
General Qualification Requirements
Prior Work Experience: At least one year of job-related prior experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses, Certifications, Etc.: Valid Utah driver's license required.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Common dexterity is continuously required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to: sit or perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement.
- The employee is occasionally required to: feel attributes of objects, grasp, push, stand, walk, drive, reach with arms or hands, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- The employee must lift weight or exert force as follows:
- Regularly: Up to 10 pounds
- Frequently: 11 to 30 pounds
- Occasionally: 31 to 75 pounds
- Rarely: 76 to 100 pounds
Specific vision abilities include: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. Ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
