Estate Caretaker-Buildings and Vehicles

POSITION OVERVIEW

The estate caretaker position is a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule including occasional evening and weekend work.

The primary role of this position is to maintain and upkeep the built environment of a private estate, including homes, pools, walkways, streams, driveways, a Pavilion, a barn, and more. Additionally, the caretaker will be responsible for maintaining items found withing that built environment – including but not limited to gates, vehicles, windows, chairs, sofas, grills, picnic tables, etc. The position will be primarily focused on habitable spaces and their adjacent environments, as opposed to lawn and landscape care.

Secondarily the caretaker may be asked to assist in projects of the building department – but only when and if the primary requirements of this position are achieved.

DUTIES

- Care of an in-ground pool and hot tub, including pool chemical care

- Care and maintenance of poolside furniture including chairs, tables, and an outdoor kitchen. Cleaning of outdoor cooking equipment including grills. Covering and uncovering furniture. Care of furniture covers.

- Care and oversight of furniture at Pavilion

- Care and maintenance of other outdoor cooking areas

- Washing, fueling, and detailing RTVs

- Receiving packages and running errands

- Trash and recycling management

- Occasional help unloading deliveries

- Maintaining pool deck and other hardscapes including sidewalks

- Oversight of outdoor water features

- Change light bulbs, filters, and such. Clean outdoor light fixtures.

- Occasional oversight of contractors

- Possible occasional service-related duties.

- Other tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

A willingness to work hard. Good, positive attitude. Flexible schedule. A “no job is too small mindset.” Excellent time and project management skills. Occasionally work during the rain.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to bend, lift, kneel, and twist. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
