Job Summary:

 

Coker, Robb & Cannon, Family Lawyers, is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our team in Tarrant County. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of family law experience, including contested hearings. Familiarity with Tarrant County courts is preferred. Applicant should also be able to handle a small portion of their workload in Denton County. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team while providing compassionate and skilled representation to our clients.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, modifications, and enforcements.
  • Conduct contested hearings and mediations.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and orders.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
  • Manage case files and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to develop strategies for complex family law matters.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

 

  • Strong courtroom experience, particularly in contested family law matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Willingness to work in both Tarrant and Denton counties as needed.
  • Proficient with legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to adapt to firm’s policies and procedures.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • 2+ years of family law experience.
  • 2+ years of courtroom experience.
  • Experience in Tarrant County family courts preferred; experience in Denton County a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to travel to courts in Tarrant and Denton counties as required.
