Job summary
As the Elementary Physical Education Teacher at East Hill Christian School, you will play a vital role in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among elementary students. This position is designed for an educator who is passionate about physical fitness, values the development of character through sportsmanship, and is dedicated to integrating Christian principles into physical education. As an Elementary School Teacher at EHCS, you will be an integral part of our dedicated faculty, contributing to the holistic development of elementary students. This position is designed for an educator who is passionate about fostering a love for learning, nurturing spiritual growth, and instilling Christian values in the hearts and minds of young learners. The Elementary Physical Education Teacher will report to the elementary principal, providing regular updates on curriculum development, student progress, and departmental needs. He or she will engage in open communication with school administrators, seeking guidance and sharing insights to enhance the overall educational experience. As a member of the faculty, the Elementary Physical Education Teacher is expected to contribute actively to chapel services and other spiritual development activities. All faculty members are expected to embrace opportunities to integrate Christian values and principles into education, fostering a Christ-centered approach to students' growth.

Required Professional Qualities
- A minimum of an earned bachelor degree in physical education or a related field or teaching experience through an alternative certification program
- Certified or able to receive teaching certification for elementary grades through ACSI
- Commitment to Christian values and the integration of faith into the curriculum.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement a dynamic physical education curriculum that aligns with Christian values and educational standards.
- Create age-appropriate lesson plans that focus on fundamental movement skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Provide engaging and interactive physical education lessons for elementary students.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and promote a positive attitude toward physical activity.
- Foster the development of motor skills, coordination, and athletic abilities.
- Introduce students to a variety of sports and activities, encouraging a love for lifelong physical fitness.
- Integrate Christian principles into physical education instruction, emphasizing values such as teamwork, respect, and perseverance.
- Use sports and physical activities as a platform for character development.
- Assess student progress in physical education through observation and structured activities.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and collaborate with parents to support their child's physical development.
- Ensure the safe and proper use of equipment and facilities during physical education classes.
- Organize and maintain sports equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate physical education concepts into broader educational initiatives.
- Participate in school-wide events and activities that promote physical fitness.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in physical education.
