The UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Project Audit Coordinator to join our AR & Denials department. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Remote Position-Selected candidate must have a permanent address and live in New Mexico or be willing to relocate to New Mexico.

Minimum $49,025 - Midpoint $61,276*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary:

Responsible for ongoing project work as related to day-to-day operations, as well as special projects to support leadership in analyzing, interpreting and assessing data related to effectively manage the accounts receivable and denials for the AR and Denials Division. Liaison for the external vendors, responsible for ongoing communication with all external vendors.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Project Audit Coordinator:

High school diploma or GED with 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Project Audit Coordinator:

  1. Responsible for monthly dashboard and monthly reconciliation for all external vendors.
  2. Ensures weekly staff account audits are completed; reports any findings and maintains audit log.
  3. Prepares and maintains required records, files, and reports including but not limited to payer issue logs.
  4. Analyzes and interprets operational denial reports, monthly accounts receivable reports, identifying trends and issues.
  5. Works closely and in collaboration with department leadership when issues arise to facilitate prompt problem identification and resolution.
  6. Reports weekly status updates to the Director of work performed including successes and failures for assigned projects.
  7. Based on project work, provides input into the development and implementation of mechanisms and controls to ensure effective and efficient AR and denials follow up.
  8. Responsible for patient escalation and resolution to completion.
  9. May provide system and process training to internal and external constituents.
