The ideal candidate for the Assistant Operator responsibilities includes process control, process monitoring, sampling, and quality and process improvement.ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Operator will be reportable to the Shift Supervisor and have responsibilities for the following tasks:
  • Utilize procedures and process job knowledge to operate equipment within their specific capability.
  • Coordinate all plant railcar movement inside the plant.
  • Unload IPA and assist in TPA unloading process. Receive IPA/TPA into SAP.
  • Participate in chip loading of railcars, trailers, and Gaylord’s. 
  • Monitors operating parameters by reading gauges, instruments, and meters.
  • Compares readings to known requirements, logs information, and takes actions as necessary.
  • Starts up and shuts down process equipment using written procedures.
  • Responds and reacts to alarms within operating area.
  • Collects and submits appropriate samples for analysis.
  • Set up and operate equipment as designed in their assigned areas.
Required SkillsRequired
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to follow procedures and be able to use process data to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Excellent safety record and ability to meet the qualifications to be on the Emergency Response Team
  • Ability to work independently and communicate with team members effectively
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Employees must be able to work scheduled (planned) days and unscheduled (unplanned/short notice) hours on off days as needed to meet business needs.
  • Must have the ability to frequently move product up to 50lbs
  • Must have the ability to frequently position self to be able perform duties to load and ship product waste chips, chip loading of railcars, trailers, and Gaylords, IPA/TPA unloading, railcar movement, inspection, and sampling.
This job requires working 12 hour rotating shifts while standing for long periods of time. Employees must be able to work scheduled (planned) days and unscheduled (unplanned/short notice) hours on off days as needed to meet business needs.

We offer excellent pay and skills-based pay progression system. This is an hourly position and benefits eligibility starts on your first day of employment. No relocation assistance is available for this position.
