Purpose / General Description:

A Yard Assistant is responsible for operating a front-end loader, unloading cement and flyash tankers, and assisting the Plant Manager with daily tasks in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and adhering to company procedures to ensure a quality product and continuous plant operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Equipment Safely and in Compliance with All Regulations: Comply with Safety requirements during operation of Loader processes and maintenance/housekeeping of plant and equipment.
  • Produce Quality Product During Mixing and Delivery: Ensure compliance with work instructions. Monitor quality in loading of materials into Bins. Report quality concerns. Unload cement and flyash tankers as needed.
  • Perform Loader and Plant Maintenance Activities: Perform daily maintenance on Loader and perform plant maintenance and housekeeping activities as directed by Plant Manager and complete required inspection forms
  • Perform Plant Maintenance Activities: Perform plant maintenance and housekeeping activities as directed by Plant Manager.
  • Present a Professional Image: Consistently provide premier customer service, act professionally at all times and maintain a positive and productive relationship with all customers.
  • Other Duties as assigned


Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Loader Certification Required.
  • 1 Year Experience in Operation of Loaders
  • Ability to perform physical activities, lifting 50 lbs., maneuvering into and around equipment, walking job sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with processes and recommend improvements.

Note: This position has physical requirements:

Employees must possess the ability to perform the essential job functions successfully and safely within the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Employees must maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. Prolonged periods of standing, walking & lifting are an essential part of this position.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
