Job Summary: 

The Speech Generating Device (SGD) Loan Library Manager is responsible for overseeing the operation and administration of a library that loans out speech-generating devices and related assistive technologies to individuals with communication challenges. The role involves managing inventory, coordinating device loans, providing support and training, and ensuring the library’s resources are effectively utilized to enhance clients' communication abilities.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Library Operations:

o Manage the day-to-day operations of the SGD loan library, including device inventory, maintenance, and updates.

o Develop and implement policies and procedures for device loaning, returns, and maintenance.

o Ensure devices are cleaned, repaired, and calibrated as needed before re-issuance.

2. Client Interaction:

o Assist clients in selecting appropriate speech-generating devices based on their needs and preferences.

o Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to device functionality or loan agreements.

3. Inventory Management:

o Maintain accurate records of device inventory, including check-outs, returns, and repairs.

o Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy of inventory and the condition of devices.

o Manage the procurement of new devices and equipment as needed, within budget constraints

4. Data and Reporting:

o Track and report on library usage, including loan statistics, client feedback, and device performance.

o Prepare reports for management on library activities, trends, and areas for improvement.

 

Qualifications:

· Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent

· Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with assistive technology, particularly speech-generating devices.

· Skills:

o Strong understanding of speech-generating devices and assistive technology.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to provide training and technical support to diverse populations.

o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

o Proficiency with computer software for inventory management and reporting.


Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift and carry devices and equipment as needed.

· Capability to work at a desk and use a computer for extended periods.


Work Environment:

· The role is typically performed in office
