Your day as a CARES/Housing Support SpecialistAs a CARES Housing Support Specialist at Stand Inc., you will play a pivotal role within our Addiction Recovery Support Center (ARSC), providing essential non-clinical services under the guidance of the CARES Outreach Operations Recovery Coach. Your main focus will be assisting the Addictive Disease Transitional Housing Coordinator in stabilizing the reentry process for individuals exiting incarceration, while also enhancing housing access for those seeking Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Services. You will facilitate transportation for program participants, ensuring their timely access to Stand campuses, transitional housing, and appointments. Your responsibilities include recruiting for Stand's Recovery Community Organization, developing strong relationships with various stakeholders across Metro Atlanta, and fostering a safe, respectful environment for all participants.
Additionally, you will engage with the recovery community to support program development, maintain a robust volunteer program, and ensure the safety and maintenance of transportation services in accordance with our safety policies.
Would you be a great CARES/Housing Support Specialist?To thrive as a CARES Housing Support Specialist at Stand Inc., you will need a combination of essential skills and qualifications. A minimum of a high school diploma is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred, alongside at least two years of experience in the behavioral health field. Active CARES certification and a satisfactory seven-year driving record are also necessary. Strong communication skills-both interpersonal and written-are critical as you will be liaising with various stakeholders and clients.
A knack for program management, leadership, and problem-solving will aid in coordinating services effectively. Additionally, you'll need solid computer skills and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite. Emphasizing collaboration, you should consistently acknowledge your team's contributions while embodying an "Appreciative Approach" to foster a positive working environment focused on recovery. Keeping track of lessons learned and sharing those insights will further enhance our collective impact on the community.
