Vaxxinova US is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Diagnostics team in Worthington, Minnesota.

About the Laboratory Technician Position: The Lab Tech is responsible for assisting in the isolation of viruses to be used in vaccine development; including but not limited to running assays.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assigned projects, experiments, or departmental activities to meet the isolation goals and timeline.
  • Viral growth, isolation, and characterization.
  • Conducts cell culture, viral isolation processes, and conducts titrations (Hemagglutination Assays, TCID50, FA and IFA)
  • Work independently and as a team, reach goals and work within timelines.
  • Perform basic microbiology experiments.
  • Communicate data/results in the form of written or oral reports.
  • Assist in the analysis of data/results and provide suggestions for next steps.
  • Collect, maintain, and organize data in the form of a laboratory notebook, bench record, electronic database, and/or production record.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Familiar with the principle of veterinary biologics, research and development of biologics, diagnostic assays, vaccine production, quality control and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to follow department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure)
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Math skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • AS Degree in Microbiology or related field with 1-2 years’ experience working in a laboratory.
