Vaxxinova US is looking for a dedicated individual to become part of our team as a Laboratory Technician within the Central Services division.
Role Overview
The Laboratory Technician, under the guidance of the Manufacturing Team Leader, plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the department while adhering to safety protocols. This position also involves maintaining cleanliness and organization within the laboratory environment.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with additional hours on Sunday as necessary to fulfill essential tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assist in the preparation of microbiological media
- Clean glassware, plasticware, racks, and other laboratory equipment
- Replenish supplies and inform the supervisor when inventory needs replenishing
- Sterilize laboratory items such as plasticware and glassware
- Autoclave biohazardous materials
- Maintain cleanliness in laboratory areas, including wiping down surfaces, emptying trash, and sweeping and mopping floors
- Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and positivity within the workplace
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments, microbiological methods, and terminology
- Basic mathematical skills
- Strong communication abilities for effective collaboration with teams and across departments
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management capabilities
- Ability to adhere to departmental SOPs
- Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending instructions in English
- Competence in accurately documenting results and following established procedures
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, and perform fine motor tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion
- Must pass medical clearance and fit testing
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience is preferred
