Kids' Corps, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood education in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a dependable Janitor to join our team. This essential role ensures our centers are clean, safe, and compliant with health standards, creating an optimal environment for children's learning and development.


Position Overview:

  • Role: Janitor
  • Location: Anchorage, AK
  • Type: Part-Time, year-round evening position
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5pm-9pm or 6pm-10pm
  • Starting Salary: $17.24 per hour 
  • There is a 10-step wage scale built into this position that occurs annually
  • Benefits: $300 sign-on bonus after completing the 90-day probation period

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Janitorial Services:
    • Clean centers nightly to ensure they are safe and ready for children the next day
    • Follow center-specific janitorial checklists to complete all cleaning tasks
    • Replenish paper products and soap in all classrooms
    • Mop classroom floors and hallways
  • Office Janitorial Services:
    • Vacuum office areas
    • Clean adult restrooms and replenish supplies
    • Clean sink areas and kitchen counters in kitchen areas
  • Maintenance:
    • Take out all trash and replace trash bags
    • Clean areas as directed, including removing stains and replacing light bulbs
    • Maintain janitorial equipment and supply cabinets
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting:
    • Complete nightly janitorial checklists and submit for review
    • Maintain inventory reports for cleaning supplies and paper products
    • Update MSDS sheets for janitorial chemicals as needed
    • Report potential hazards in centers to the Facilities & Transportation Specialist


Requirements:

  • Current Driver’s License and daily access to a personal vehicle insured for work purposes
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with cleaning chemicals
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, kneel, and perform cleaning tasks for extended periods
