General Description
The successful candidate will perform as a senior ERP systems administrator, providing support and expertise to the Air Force Human Resources (HR) division in San Antonio, TX. This program includes providing software development, architecture, and development standards expertise as well as evaluating new technologies and leading teams through the design, development, testing, and deployment of software updated to existing HR systems.  This requires the candidate to lead/assist with the configuration and daily operation of various servers that host various software development and testing tools; investigate system outages; support security patching; perform operating system software and hardware updates; evaluate functional enhancements and support programming, testing, training, and document development. 

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will participate in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized systems with specific emphasis on using the HR-focused portion of Oracle’s eBusiness Suite. The candidate will provide systems administration of various development, test, and production servers, performing system and performance monitoring, performing patching based on vendor software releases and updates, and addressing security vulnerabilities when they are identified. The candidate may interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
  • Comply with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform software installations, patches, and upgrades.
  • Perform day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for operating systems and servers.
  • Monitor system performance, security, data integrity, and optimal use of resources.
  • Perform diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by performing system backups and database archive operations.

Specialized Knowledge
  • Perform as an Oracle Systems Administrator, with specific knowledge of Oracle HR, Oracle Payroll, and Concurrent Manager.
  • Perform Linux and Linux CUPS Administration.
  • Perform installs, upgrades, security patches, security STIGs, backup and recovery, data migration, coding, and make use of Data Guard.
  • Make use of Concurrent Manager and have a working knowledge of Linux.
  • Develop PL/SQL code and be comfortable with scripting in Powershell.
  • Provide support for application interfaces between automated information systems.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field.

Professional Certifications
Security Plus or equivalent certification required.

Clearance
Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Secret Security clearance.

Experience
5-7 years’ senior systems administration experience focused on Oracle HR and Payroll, and system maintenance (patching etc.).

U.S. Citizen or Similar
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Skills and Abilities
Experience with Oracle HR and Payroll.

Other Characteristics (e.g., Personal or Language)
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with personnel from other companies, government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members.

Working conditions, including location
Onsite at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX, and Remote
Client duty hours are Monday through Friday.
