SUMMARY

A. PRIMARY DUTIES

Responsible for entering data into computer using Head Start/Early Head Start HSFIS program. Responsible for compiling information upon request and working closely with center level staff and computer staff. Responsible for doing related computer work as required; will receive on-the-job training.

B. SECONDARY DUTIES

Subject to the direction of the Computer Analyst/Trainer. The person in this position is responsible for implementation of program and policies related to child development, health, family and community partnerships. Responsible for linking the Head Start/Early Head Start center, the family, and related community resources.

Pay Range: $15.50 per hr.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PRIMARY

Data Entry in the HSFIS program includes:

  • Family Demographic information
  • Health information including physicals, dentals, screenings, immunizations, child development issues, etc.
  • Emergency contacts and consents
  • Education information including Developmental Assessment and Child Development Plan
  • Volunteer information, volunteer time sheets and in kind
  • Strengths and Needs information
  • Individual Family Partnership Agreement
  • Transition Information
  • Attendance and Meals
  • Activity and Service Delivery Tracking
  • Accuracy in data entry a priority
  • Compile reports for administrative and center level staff
  • Work closely with staff to obtain missing/incomplete information
  • Update data on families in a timely manner

SECONDARY

  • Assist with center emergencies(i.e., center closing, sick children, evaluation)
  • Assist with classroom and other center coverage as needed
  • Act as resource to parents
  • Work with staff and parents in developing community projects
  • Recognize parent and community volunteers
  • Attend agency and community meetings, workshops and training and NAC’s
  • Attend field trips and provide first aid if necessary
  • Accompany children or staff to hospital to obtain emergency treatment when necessary
  • Assist with yearly program self assessment
  • Assist in obtaining information for children with suspected disabilities
  • Remain with children left after school or returned by bus if necessary

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED. Computer literacy required to enter family and child data on computer. Ability to gain cooperation of staff and parents to maintain a professional manner. Previous community work and Head Start/Early Head Start experience desirable.
