Position Description
The Lead Services Engineer is responsible for technical leadership for building and managing APIs that support our Digital Apps, In-store integrations, payments, etc. Responsible for discovery, design, development and lifecycle management for services in our Azure Middleware. This individual serves as a lead resource and developer on the team for supporting project workload requested by business/marketing product owners and other stakeholders. The Services Engineer provides thought leadership and technical leadership for other services engineers as well as architects and business analysts on forward development and feature design/discovery. This role will not be responsible for HR management of the team, which will allow them to be able to oversee the technical aspects of the team's growth and delivery while also contributing individually.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops and documents feature requests for various business and marketing functionality requests.
- Azure APIM, Azure Function Apps, Azure Logic Apps, Storage Accounts, Azure Key Vault, ARM Templates, application insights, NPM Packages, MongoDB, Workato, automation tools, etc.
- Leads design, development and maintenance of cloud software according to best practices and standards.
- Own the architecture decisions and leads the delivery and operation of the team products. Including individual contributions as a hands-on engineer as well as delegated tasks and support to other engineers.
- Research emerging technology trends to make appropriate industry recommendations.
- Implements the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
- Coordinate and collaborate with development teams and assist with other team functions as needed to provide Services support.
Work Experience/ Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or appropriate industry experience required.
- 5+ years Node.js experience required.
- 3+ years .NET/C# experience required.
- 3+ Years Azure experience is preferred.
- APIM, Azure Functions (Node.js), Azure Logic Apps, Key Vault, Storage Account, App Insights.
- Deep understanding of Azure Services Architecture and Development.
- Experience leading development teams preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and communication with business partners.
- Relevant, industry-recognized technical certifications are a plus.
- Experience with cloud and virtual development is preferred.

- Total Work Systems: Works directly with Solutions Architects and Enterprise Architects to design scalable/maintainable solutions that follow the best practices and procedures outlined in the enterprise. Follows the patterns defined but also give ideas on how to improve and modernize products.
- Process Management: Skilled in figuring out the processes necessary to build quality products, breaking down tasks into efficient, measurable workflow and simplify complex processes.
