Overview


The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance of Iovance’s facilities in Philadelphia, PA.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Budget and Financial Management: Monitoring budgets, financial commitments, and expenditures.
  • Project Reviews: Conducting constructability and biddability reviews.
  • Communication: Keeping stakeholders informed and collaborating effectively.
  • Meetings: Participating in project review meetings.
  • Coordination: Managing sub-consultant participation.
  • Facility Services Management: Overseeing daily activities like security, cleaning, and waste management.
  • Best Practices: Developing and implementing best practices for facility services.
  • Contract Personnel: Coordinating contract personnel.
  • Leadership: Leading a team, including onboarding, training, and performance appraisals.
  • Workplace Management: Managing office inventory, purchasing, contracts, and space planning.
  • Work Environment: Creating a positive work environment and fostering employee connections.
  • Event Management: Coordinating office events and communications.
  • Project Management: Independently managing projects to completion.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensuring safety and compliance with codes and standards.
  • EH&S Compliance: Meeting Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Developing creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Technology: Understanding workplace technology and collaborating with IT teams.
  • Adherence to Core Values: Following company policies and ethics.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Performing other assigned duties.
  • Travel: Traveling between multiple locations in the Philadelphia region.


Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge


  • Proven leadership ability to carry out difficult decisions in a logical rational manner and demonstrated ability to work as a senior management team member to engage and influence team members in the matrix environment
  • Independent decision-making capability and ability to think conceptually and understand impact of decision
  • Technical writing capability and experience with writing approving and training staff on SOP's deviations and CAPAS
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.


Preferred Education, Skills, and Knowledge


  • The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, broad business knowledge, and project management experience. They should support daily operations, ensure efficient facility operations, mitigate risks, and meet organizational needs.
  • Project management certification or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Previous experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments desirable
  • Previous experience working in biotechnology/immunotherapy lab and manufacture environment desirable
  • A bachelors degree with a minimum of 4 years of progressive relevant experience in bio pharmaceutical industry and experience in cell therapy preferred

Physical Demands and Activities Required

 

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to move about inside an office and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and extensive reading.
  • This position requires repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information.

This job operates in a professional or remote office environment and requires operating standard office equipment and keyboards.
